Abstract
In this work, the presence of major drugs of abuse and their metabolites including alpha-hydroxyalprazolam, d-amphetamine, 3,4-methylendioxyamphetamine, d-methamphetamine, 3,4-methylendioxymethamphetamine, benzoylecgonine, ecgonine methyl ester, benzylpiperazine, codeine, diazepam, nordiazepam, ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, 6-monoacetylmorphine, morphine-3-beta-d-glucuronide, oxazepam, phentermine, temazepam, l-9-carboxy-11-nor-delta-9-THC, and morphine in urine sample is confirmed using reverse phase LC/MS method. This method is developed to simultaneously detect the drugs of abuse for routine drug screening at work places. The method requires less time and cost than other known methods due to its simplified sample preparation step. The comparison of the results between the sample that was carried out with SPE and not carried out with SPE is also discussed.
